Anya Hindmarch Ice Cream Project on Pont Street: the final week
Every summer a queue forms on Pont Street, and every summer people ask what it is for. The answer, for the fifth year running, is ice cream. Anya Hindmarch's Ice Cream Project returned to her row of shops at 11 Pont Street on Friday 5 June, and it closes on Sunday 16 August. That leaves this week and one last weekend to try a scoop of something you would never normally order.
The 2026 flavours
The idea has not changed: each flavour is built around a cult British food or household brand, and the joke works because the ice cream is genuinely good. This year's line-up runs from the comforting to the frankly alarming. At the gentle end sit Tunnock's Caramel Wafers, Walker's Shortbread, McVitie's Ginger Nuts and an illy Coffee scoop made with Devonshire cream. Capri-Sun Orange and Yazoo Chocolate Milk Drink lean into childhood nostalgia, and Müller Strawberry Corner arrives as a frozen yogurt with strawberry compote.
Then it gets interesting. Aunt Bessie's brings golden syrup ice cream with chunks of Yorkshire pudding. Jacob's Mini Cheddars becomes a cheese anglaise studded with the crackers. Lurpak Salted Butter swaps the cream for butter, Green Giant Sweetcorn is folded into a vanilla base, and Oxo Stock Cubes produces a caramelised beef stock ice cream with a hint of salt. Kikkoman Soy Sauce and Paxo Stuffing follow, and the boldest of all is Euthymol Original Toothpaste, a eucalyptus ice cream infused with dried thyme. Everything is handmade in small batches in Devon and sold by the scoop or in 500ml tubs to take home.
The blind tasting tea
If the queue is not for you, the Anya Cafe next door runs an Ice Cream Project Blind Tasting Tea. You work through 15 flavours with wafers and sprinkles, marking a score card as you try to guess what each one is. Hot Dinners reported a price of £50 per person with a minimum of two, and tubs can be ordered to the table if one flavour wins you over. With the season ending on Sunday, remaining slots are likely to be scarce, so check availability before you set out.
Beating the queue
The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from midday to 5pm. Afternoons are busiest, particularly at weekends, and the team warns that on weekend days it may close the queue up to two hours before the advertised closing time so that everyone already waiting can be served. In practice, that means a weekday morning is the safest bet, and the final Saturday and Sunday will be the hardest of the whole run.
Getting there
Pont Street is a short walk from both Knightsbridge and Sloane Square stations, and the shop is at number 11, SW1X 9EH. Full flavour descriptions and opening times are on the Anya Hindmarch Ice Cream Project page. Pair a scoop with a wander round the rest of our things to do in Knightsbridge while the summer lasts.
