Knightsbridge Week Ahead: BST Open House, Maroon 5, Hawksmoor at £45
BST Hyde Park's opening weekend ends tonight with ATEEZ, and the week ahead is one of the busiest of the summer around Knightsbridge. Between Monday and Sunday the park hosts three midweek Open House days and three headline concerts, a steakhouse rolls its prices back twenty years for a day, and the group stage of the World Cup gives way to the knockout rounds. Here is what to plan around, day by day.
Monday 29 June
The BST Open House programme begins with Davina McCall: Move & Mind in the Hyde Park arena. It is also the day of Hawksmoor's twentieth birthday offer, when its Classics Menu costs £45 instead of £75 at its London restaurants, including the Knightsbridge branch on Yeoman's Row. Bookings were made through an invitation sent to newsletter subscribers, so if you secured a table, enjoy the Old Spot belly ribs and Longhorn ribeye at 2006 prices.
Tuesday 30 June to Thursday 2 July
- Tuesday 30 June: Run With Mo!, the Open House running event in the park.
- Wednesday 1 July: a quieter day in the park, and a good one for a lunchtime walk to the Serpentine Pavilion, which is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am.
- Thursday 2 July: All Things Orchestral, the third Open House event of the week.
Friday 3 July to Sunday 5 July
The concerts return in force for the second weekend:
- Friday 3 July: Maroon 5, with OneRepublic, Jess Glynne and Ella Eyre.
- Saturday 4 July: Mumford & Sons, with The War on Drugs and Holly Humberstone.
- Sunday 5 July: Duran Duran, with Scissor Sisters and Nile Rodgers & CHIC.
According to the JustPark guide to BST 2026, the official entrance is on the east side of the park, and Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner and Knightsbridge are among the nearest stations. Expect busy pavements around Hyde Park Corner as each show finishes.
Also this week
- The Lanesborough Garden Room: the hotel's covered cigar terrace is due to unveil its permanent redesign in July, so watch for the reopening.
- Kensington Gardens art: Jesús Rafael Soto's walk-through Pénétrable BBL Jaune is free beside Serpentine South, and pairs well with the Pavilion.
- World Cup: the knockout rounds begin now the group stage has finished, so check fixture times before booking a pub table.
If concerts are not your thing
Friday night is also late night at the V&A, which stays open until 10pm on Fridays. It is a calm counterpoint to Maroon 5: Rising Voices, the museum's survey of contemporary art from Asia, Australia and the Pacific, is on in the Porter Gallery, and the garden courtyard is at its best on a warm summer evening.
Planning tips
On concert days, avoid driving into Knightsbridge in the late afternoon and early evening, and book dinner tables ahead, as pre-show groups fill restaurants near Hyde Park. For the full calendar, see our events listings.
