New Michelin Stars 2026: Tom Brown at The Capital and Corenucopia
The dust has settled on the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2026, unveiled at the Convention Centre in Dublin on 9 February, and two of the year's new one-star restaurants sit within a short walk of Sloane Street. The guide now lists 1,210 restaurants, 230 of them starred, with 20 new one-star entries across Britain and Ireland. Knightsbridge and Belgravia each claimed one, and both are worth booking this spring.
Tom Brown at The Capital, Knightsbridge
This one feels like a homecoming. Tom Brown built his reputation at The Capital Hotel on Basil Street before leaving to open Cornerstone in Hackney, and he returned to the hotel in 2025. Michelin has now restored a star to the address, describing his return to the place where he made his name.
Brown's cooking is led by seafood, served in a refined, well kept dining room at 22 to 24 Basil Street that suits a quiet lunch as readily as a celebration dinner. The inspectors single out turbot with courgettes and a playful cuttlefish dish built on the idea of cacio e pepe, both visually striking and grounded in premium produce. The guide files it under seafood and modern British cooking. Read the full Michelin listing for Tom Brown at The Capital, or see our venue page for the restaurant.
Corenucopia by Clare Smyth, Belgravia
Clare Smyth's three-star Core remains in Notting Hill, but her newer Belgravia room on Holbein Place, a few steps from Sloane Square, has earned a star of its own within months of opening. Michelin describes it as the chef's take on the luxury bistro, and the dining room plays the part: thick cream carpets, neoclassical mouldings, mahogany tables and velvet seating.
The menu reinvents traditional British and French dishes with the precision Smyth is known for. Her version of fish and chips uses Dover sole stuffed with lobster mousse, and there is a nostalgic sherry trifle to finish. Potatoes are a quiet obsession, with boulangère, dauphinoise and hasselback among the sides, and a basement private dining room suits groups. The Michelin entry for Corenucopia lists it at 18 to 22 Holbein Place, SW1W.
What it means for SW1 and SW3
Two new stars in one year strengthens an already serious local roll call, and both arrivals offer something slightly different from the formal tasting menu. Tom Brown is the choice for fish lovers and hotel-dining elegance; Corenucopia for classic comfort cooking at a luxury pitch. Expect demand to climb in the weeks after the announcement, particularly for weekend dinners and spring celebrations.
