Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall 2026: Full Line-Up
Every March the Royal Albert Hall gives a week of its calendar to the Teenage Cancer Trust, and this year's series looks like one of the most intriguing in its history. The Hall has hosted concerts for the charity since 2000, and for a quarter of a century the shows were launched and curated by Roger Daltrey of The Who. For 2026 the charity has handed the keys to a guest curator for the first time, and it has chosen Robert Smith of The Cure.
The night-by-night line-up
Smith's programme leans towards the atmospheric, guitar-led bands that share his sensibility, with a comedy night in the middle of the week. According to the Royal Albert Hall's series page, the week runs as follows:
- Monday 23 March: Elbow, with special guests MRCY
- Tuesday 24 March: A Night of Comedy
- Wednesday 25 March: Mogwai, with Craven Faults and Annika Kilkenny
- Thursday 26 March: Manic Street Preachers, with The Joy Formidable
- Friday 27 March: my bloody valentine, with Chvrches
- Saturday 28 March: Garbage, with Placebo
- Sunday 29 March: Wolf Alice, with Nilüfer Yanya
The comedy night
Billed as Robert Smith's Comedy Favourites, Tuesday's bill is a strong one: Maisie Adam, Bridget Christie, Jack Dee, Andy Hamilton, Dom Joly, Miles Jupp, Athena Kugblenu, Stewart Lee and Dara Ó Briain. It is a rare chance to see that many names on one stage, and the Hall's acoustics are kinder to stand-up than you might expect.
Why this year stands out
Placebo's Saturday appearance and Chvrches on Friday are both billed as stripped-back sets, a format that suits the Hall's round, intimate-for-its-size auditorium. The series also carries real weight for the charity: the Official Charts announcement notes that the 2025 concerts raised £2.05m, and organisers want to beat that total. Every ticket supports specialist nursing and care for young people with cancer.
A series with pedigree
The Hall's archive of past Teenage Cancer Trust bills reads like a history of modern British music. In 2025 the week featured The Who, The Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter, The Corrs and James Arthur, plus a comedy evening hosted by Micky Flanagan. The year before brought The Chemical Brothers, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Young Fathers. Smith's line-up changes the flavour without lowering the bar.
Tickets and getting there
Tickets went on sale in December through the Hall's box office and the charity's ticketing partners, so check there for returns and remaining seats rather than relying on unofficial resellers. The Hall's bars and restaurants make it easy to arrive early and settle in.
South Kensington station on the Piccadilly, Circle and District lines is about a 15-minute walk via Exhibition Road; buses 9, 10 and 52 stop on Kensington Gore. For dinner before or after, the restaurants of Knightsbridge and Brompton Road are close by. For more dates across the neighbourhood this spring, see our events listings.
