The Best Sunday Roast in Knightsbridge and Belgravia

OK7 September 2026·By Only Knightsbridge Editorial·3 min read
The Lanesborough

The best Sunday roast in Knightsbridge depends on the mood you are in. For a polished, tablecloth lunch, The Lanesborough Grill and La Môme at The Berkeley both run dedicated Sunday menus. For something more relaxed, three Belgravia pubs within a short walk of each other carve beef, chicken and more every week. All five are listed below with what to order and how to get there. Book ahead at all of them: Sunday lunch is the busiest service of the week round here.

The Lanesborough Grill

The flagship restaurant at The Lanesborough is a richly decorated dining room lit by a glass dome, with modern British cooking from Executive Chef Shay Cooper. The Grill's Sunday lunch centres on classics such as roast sirloin of Hereford beef and roast Salt Marsh lamb, and some dishes on the wider menu are finished tableside. It is the most formal choice on this list, so dress accordingly and allow time for a drink in The Library Bar first. The hotel is at Hyde Park Corner, SW1X 7TA, with Hyde Park Corner station on the doorstep.

La Môme London at The Berkeley

La Môme is the Mediterranean restaurant at The Berkeley, and every Sunday lunchtime it serves a roast menu alongside its usual à la carte. Recent menus have offered roast leg of lamb, a whole corn-fed chicken to share with a stuffed leg, a Beef Wellington for two and a roasted celeriac with black truffle for vegetarians, all with roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The terrace overlooking Belgravia is a draw in fine weather. Find La Môme London at The Berkeley, Wilton Place, SW1X 7RL; Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner stations are both close.

The Grenadier

Tucked into cobbled Wilton Row, The Grenadier is the Belgravia pub most people picture when they think of a London Sunday lunch: small rooms, a ceiling hung with banknotes and a menu of roasts. The Sunday menu lists the pub's Beef Wellington with horseradish cream, lemon and thyme roast chicken breast with stuffing, twice cooked pork belly with crackling and black pudding, and a wild mushroom, butternut squash and spinach pasty for vegetarians. Each comes with roast potatoes, greens, glazed carrot, red cabbage and gravy, with Yorkshire pudding on all but the vegan option. The address is 18 Wilton Row, SW1X 7NR; Hyde Park Corner is the nearest station.

The Alfred Tennyson

On cobbled Motcomb Street, The Alfred Tennyson is a Cubitt House pub with a dining room, Alf's, that runs its own Sunday menu. Expect a short list of roasts, recently Hereford beef rump with horseradish crème fraîche and a half chicken with bread sauce, served with duck fat roast potatoes, root vegetables, greens, Yorkshire pudding and gravy, plus oysters, small plates and puddings around them. It suits a group that wants a roast without the hotel formality. You will find it at 10 Motcomb Street, SW1X 8LA, about ten minutes' walk from Knightsbridge station.

The Thomas Cubitt

Named after the master builder who laid out much of Belgravia, The Thomas Cubitt is a handsome Georgian pub on Elizabeth Street with a bar on the ground floor and a light, first floor restaurant above. Its seasonal menu of British cooking includes what the pub calls a very special Sunday lunch, and the kitchen keeps serving into the evening on Sundays, which makes it a good pick for a later lunch. Book the restaurant rather than relying on the bar. It is at 44 Elizabeth Street, SW1W 9PA, between Sloane Square and Victoria stations.

Good to know: roast menus change with the seasons, so check each venue's current Sunday menu before you book, especially if you have your heart set on a particular cut. The pubs fill quickly from about 1pm, while the hotel dining rooms are calmer but pricier. If you would rather walk off lunch, Hyde Park is a few minutes from The Lanesborough, The Berkeley and The Grenadier.
