Granger & Co. is the all-day restaurant group founded by Australian cook Bill Granger, and its Chelsea branch sits on Pavilion Road, the pretty shopping street running behind Sloane Street. The food is fresh, colourful and light, made from scratch in small batches with seasonal ingredients and an easy-going Australian spirit.
Breakfast is the best known meal, and the ricotta hotcakes with banana and honeycomb butter are the dish people come back for, alongside scrambled eggs on Dusty Knuckle sourdough. Later in the day, the menu runs to dishes such as prawn and chilli linguine, a yellow curry with roast sweet potato, grass-fed rump steak with caramelised miso cabbage, and a brown sugar pavlova. Good coffee, fresh juices, homemade sodas and cocktails are served all day.
It suits a weekend brunch, a relaxed lunch between shops or an easy weeknight dinner. Hours are 7am to 10.30pm last orders Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 9.30pm on Sundays and bank holidays. Bookings are taken from 5pm, and walk-ins are always welcome. There are a few outdoor seats, and a first-floor private dining room for up to 18 guests.
