About Serpentine Galleries

Serpentine shows contemporary art in two galleries in Kensington Gardens, Serpentine South and Serpentine North, which sit a short walk apart on either side of the Serpentine Bridge. Entry to both is free, and the programme of exhibitions changes through the year, alongside the annual Serpentine Pavilion, a temporary building commissioned each summer on the lawn.

This year's Pavilion is open until 25 October, so there is still time to see it. Beyond the exhibitions, there are gallery tours, a free digital guide on Bloomberg Connects, family resources and free self-guided visits for schools, colleges and universities. The café and restaurant at Serpentine North serves brunch, lunch, coffee and drinks, which makes it easy to pair a visit with a walk through the park.

Both galleries have full disability access and facilities. They suit art lovers, families out in the park and anyone looking for something free to do between Knightsbridge and Lancaster Gate. Opening hours are 10am to 6pm from Tuesday to Sunday, and booking a free ticket is advised. Serpentine South is at Kensington Gardens, W2 3XA, and Serpentine North is on West Carriage Drive, W2 2AR. The nearest stations are Lancaster Gate on the Central line and Knightsbridge on the Piccadilly line, and cycle hire docks sit opposite both galleries.
