Where to Find a Good Wine Shop in Knightsbridge

For a wine shop in Knightsbridge, you have two very different options on your doorstep. The Harrods Wine Shop is the big name, with thousands of bottles and machines that let you taste before you buy. Around it, the London merchant Jeroboams runs three neighbourhood shops within walking distance, each with a slightly different focus. Below is how they compare, plus one place to drink a glass on the spot.

The Harrods Wine Shop

On the lower ground floor of Harrods, the Fine Wines and Spirits department holds a curated collection of more than 2,000 bottles in store, from age-worthy Bordeaux to small batch spirits and emerging producers, with over 1,000 more online. The highlight is the enomatic tasting system: four machines show up to 32 wines at a time, often including rare bottles, poured in 25ml measures into Zalto glasses using a tasting card. The team also offers complimentary private tastings by arrangement. Opening hours follow the store, and details are on the Harrods wine page. The address is 87 to 135 Brompton Road, SW1X 7XL, by Knightsbridge station.

Jeroboams, Walton Street

The closest independent option to Knightsbridge station is the Jeroboams shop at 56 Walton Street, SW3 1RB, on the border of Chelsea and Knightsbridge. It is a compact, well proportioned shop with a curated range of fine wine and spirits, and the cellar underneath is used for private tastings and events. The address has been home to a wine merchant for decades. It is open daily, with shorter hours on Sundays, which makes it handy for a bottle on the way to dinner.

Jeroboams Fine Wine Room, Pont Street

At 6 Pont Street, SW1X 9EL, between Belgrave Square and Sloane Street, Jeroboams keeps its Fine Wine Room, a calm space aimed at collectors and anyone looking for something exceptional. Pont Street itself is known for its red brick buildings of the 1880s, a style nicknamed Pont Street Dutch, and for the Cadogan Hotel, where Oscar Wilde was arrested in April 1895. Come here when you are buying for a cellar or a celebration rather than a quick midweek red. It is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays, and Knightsbridge and Sloane Square stations are both within walking distance.

Jeroboams, Elizabeth Street

Jeroboams calls its Elizabeth Street shop its flagship, set on what is often described as Belgravia's village high street. It is the most neighbourly of the three, the kind of place to pop into on the way home for a bottle and a chat, and it opens daily. The shop's own history notes that the area was known as the Five Fields in the Middle Ages, long before Thomas Cubitt helped build the stucco streets of Belgravia. It sits a few doors from The Thomas Cubitt, if you want to make an afternoon of it. The address is 50 to 52 Elizabeth Street, SW1W 9PB, between Sloane Square and Victoria stations. Branch details and opening times for all three are on the Jeroboams shops page.

Cantinetta Antinori

If you would rather drink than carry, Cantinetta Antinori on Harriet Street is the London outpost of the Florentine wine family's restaurant group. It opened in 2023 in a historic building and serves traditional and contemporary Tuscan dishes with a selection of wines from the Antinori family estates. Its wine bar is open all day and is the place to sit with a glass and some Italian salami. There is live jazz on Friday evenings, and the restaurant is open from noon to 10.30pm every day. Find it at 4 Harriet Street, SW1X 9JR, a few minutes from Knightsbridge station.

Good to know: for a special occasion, the Harrods private tastings and the Jeroboams Fine Wine Room are the most tailored options. Jeroboams also runs a cellar plan and fine wine services online, and Harrods offers a corkage service in selected restaurants for bottles bought in the Wine Shop, so you can open your purchase over lunch in the store.
