About Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley

Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley is the French pastry chef's first patisserie outside France, set within The Berkeley hotel on Wilton Place. Grolet is best known for desserts sculpted to look like fruit and flowers, and the London outpost includes the Counter, a chef's counter where pastries are finished in front of guests.

The signature experience is Goûtea, which combines the French habit of an afternoon sweet snack with a British afternoon tea: finger sandwiches, warm scones, fruit and flower sculptures, pastries and cookies, with a glass of Billecart-Salmon Champagne or a non-alcoholic pairing. It is served in the light-filled Berkeley Café or at the Counter. The menu changes with the seasons; the autumn collection is built around chocolate, hazelnut, pear, lemon and fig. Breakfast, an à la carte menu, celebration cakes based on the Saint Honoré, and gift vouchers are also offered.

It suits a special occasion, a pastry-focused afternoon tea, or a treat after shopping in Knightsbridge. Goûtea at the Counter costs £130 per person and runs Friday to Sunday at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. The kitchen cannot adapt dishes for dietary requirements. Reservations are made through The Berkeley.
