The Aubrey
Japanese izakaya and late night cocktail bar at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, with 250 works of Japonisme art, a Sando Bar, weekend brunch and private rooms.
About The Aubrey
The Aubrey is the Japanese izakaya and late night bar inside Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, with its own entrance on Knightsbridge. The idea is a night out in Ginza: inventive cocktails built around Japanese spirits and Asian ingredients, served with izakaya dishes each evening, in a warren of rooms hung with more than 250 pieces of Japonisme art.
The newest addition is a Sando Bar serving Japanese sandwiches made with soft shokupan bread. At the main bar, a guided pairing sets five cocktails against five dishes with a mixologist explaining each one, and at weekends there is a brunch that mixes London favourites with izakaya plates, with bottomless cocktails and champagne. For something more private, there is a private omakase bar, a wood panelled private dining room for up to 18 under two crystal chandeliers, a Library with booth seating, the pink-hued Curio Room for larger parties and the bright Salon Bar for drinks.
The Aubrey suits date nights, late drinks after dinner in Knightsbridge and groups who want a private room with character. Ask about the secret entrance if discretion matters. Bookings are taken on +44 20 7201 3899 or through the Mandarin Oriental website. Note that the old standalone theaubrey.com address no longer belongs to the restaurant, so use the hotel's page.
