About Zuma
Zuma London on Raphael Street is the original Zuma, the flagship of Rainer Becker's international group, and has been one of Knightsbridge's best known Japanese restaurants for two decades. The cooking takes its cue from the informal izakaya of Tokyo, with contemporary dishes designed to be shared.
The menu's well known plates include grilled Chilean sea bass with green chilli and ginger dressing, seared wagyu sirloin tataki with truffle ponzu, and a tartare of salmon and tuna with oscietra caviar. The restaurant's own suggestions for a first visit include fried tofu, crab salad, rock shrimp tempura and crispy fried squid, with sashimi sliced and sushi rolled to order. The bar pours more than 40 sakes, including Zuma's own label, brewed since 2017 with the Kimura Shuzo brewery in Akita, plus signature cocktails and Japanese spirits.
The main dining room is arranged around an open kitchen, with sushi and robata counters where you can watch the chefs. The lounge is more relaxed, and the tosho table, a long white teak table for nine or ten beside the robata grill, works well for groups. Zuma suits celebrations, business lunches and lively weekend dinners. The Ebisu lunch menu covers signature dishes at midday, a snack menu runs from 3pm to 6pm in the lounge and bar, and the bar welcomes walk-ins all day.
