L'Objet x Jessica McCormack: shell tableware arrives on Sloane Street
Two Sloane Street neighbours have joined forces, and the result belongs on the dinner table rather than the wrist. L'Objet, the luxury homeware house founded by Elad Yifrach, has launched its first collaboration with the London jeweller Jessica McCormack, translating fine jewellery motifs into cutlery, porcelain and serving pieces. With the entertaining season approaching, it is the most covetable new homeware on the street this autumn.
The idea
The collection is built around shells, spirals and marine rope, with a twisted cord motif running through every piece. Both houses had already been drawn to the sea: L'Objet's Aegean dinnerware dates back to 2007, while Jessica McCormack's 2023 Beaches jewellery collection took its cue from the shoreline. The stated aim is to bring a jeweller's sensibility into the home, creating objects that feel personal rather than merely decorative.
What is in the collection
- Flatware: L'Objet's first cutlery, including forks, serving spoons and ice tongs. Each handle begins as a twisted cord, swells into a shell and tapers into a spiral. The set comes in a navy leather case finished with gold rope.
- Caviar set: a polished stainless steel dish shaped like a spiralled shell, with a glass cone that sits over ice. It comes with mother-of-pearl spoons in a companion shell, because metal spoons can affect the taste of roe.
- Serving pieces: a champagne cooler, an ice bucket and an oval platter, all edged in gold rope.
- Porcelain: bowls and serving dishes in fine bisque porcelain, hand-painted in 24-carat gold, plus footed shell cups and gold napkin rings.
- For the dressing table: a mirror framed in coiled rope.
Materials run across porcelain, stainless steel and brass, and the metal pieces are made to be used, not just admired. The full rundown is in the Sloane Street estate's feature on the launch.
Why it works
Jewellery collaborations in homeware can tip into novelty, but this one is anchored in function. The caviar set solves a real problem, the flatware is weighty enough for daily use, and the gold rope edging is restrained enough to sit alongside plain white china. It also suits the way many Knightsbridge households entertain: at home, at length and with a certain amount of theatre.
Where to buy
The collection is available at L'Objet, 162A Sloane Street, SW1, and through the brand's online store, where it sits among the new arrivals. Jessica McCormack's own Sloane Street boutique, opened in 2023, is a short walk along the same street, so the two make a natural pairing for a morning's browsing.
A gifting note
With Christmas lists beginning to form, the smaller pieces such as the napkin rings and shell cups make thoughtful presents, while the flatware coffret and caviar set are investment buys for someone who hosts. Our Sloane Street shopping guide maps the rest of the street if you want to make a day of it. Both shops are a few minutes' walk from Knightsbridge station.
