Surrenne's City Circadian Reset at The Emory: A Sleep-Led Retreat
August is when many Knightsbridge residents head for a retreat abroad. The Emory is making the case for staying put. Its City Circadian Reset is a stay of two nights or more designed around the body's natural daily rhythm, run by Surrenne Belgravia, the Maybourne wellness club that occupies four subterranean floors beneath the hotel on Old Barrack Yard. It is a serious, structured programme rather than a spa weekend, and it is built for people who want to come home sleeping better, not just looking rested.
How the reset works
Everything starts with a 60-minute one-to-one consultation with Surrenne's medical team at the beginning of the stay, which shapes what follows. Each day then brings a mix of sessions:
- Tracy Anderson classes, personal training, and yoga or Pilates
- Infrared iDome treatments
- A spa treatment tailored to your medical profile
- Use of the club's snow shower, sauna, hydrogen tap and pool
Food is part of the prescription too. Three meals a day are designed by the nutritionist Rose Ferguson, which takes the guesswork out of eating well for the duration of the stay.
In the suite
The programme continues upstairs. Suites are equipped with compression boots, an LED light panel and herbal patches for the evening, so the routine does not stop when you leave the club. The Emory itself has 61 suites and studios, including a top-floor penthouse, with complimentary access to Surrenne for every guest during their stay, according to the hotel's own site.
After you check out
The part that sets this apart is what happens afterwards. On departure, guests receive a month's supplement prescription and their gym kit laundered, and there is a virtual follow-up consultation 30 days later to see how the changes have held. For anyone who has returned from a retreat only to slip back into old habits within a week, that follow-up is the real selling point.
Price and booking
The City Circadian Reset costs from £5,010 per person for two nights, as reported by the Knightsbridge Partnership, and is available for stays of two nights or longer. That is a significant sum, but it covers accommodation, every meal, the medical input and a full timetable of training and treatments, and it removes the flights and jet lag that come with most destination retreats. For a city-based alternative, few options are this complete.
The Emory sits between Belgravia and Knightsbridge, a short walk from Hyde Park, so a morning walk in the park fits easily around the timetable. Book directly with the hotel and discuss dates and your goals when you enquire, since the consultation at the start of the stay shapes everything that follows. Two nights is the minimum, but a longer stay gives the routine more time to settle, and it is worth asking the team what they would recommend for your own goals.
