London Fashion Week September 2026: what it means for Sloane Street
London Fashion Week returns on Thursday 17 September and runs until Monday 21 September, with designers showing Spring/Summer 2027. Most of the shows happen elsewhere in the city and by invitation, but the effect is felt on Sloane Street and Brompton Road all week: editors and buyers in town, new-season rails freshly stocked, and a steady flow of people who came for the clothes. Here is what to watch, and where to see the names in person.
The headlines
The provisional schedule announced by the British Fashion Council in July has two big returns. McQueen comes back to London with creative director Seán McGirr presenting his London debut for the house, showing both menswear and womenswear. Mulberry rejoins the official schedule under its new creative director, Christopher Kane, with his first collection for the brand.
Established British names on the schedule include Burberry, Barbour, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Harris Reed, Richard Quinn, Roksanda and Simone Rocha. For newer talent, Francesca Lake, Gui Rosa and Petra Fagerström make their London Fashion Week debuts as BFC NEWGEN recipients, and Fashion East returns after further investment from the BFC. Laura Weir, the BFC's chief executive, has framed the season as a moment when leading British brands come home alongside an exceptional new generation, and on paper it certainly looks like a confident line-up.
Fashion week for everyone else
This season leans further into shopping than usual. Marks & Spencer makes its debut on the official schedule with a see-now, buy-now runway collection of womenswear and menswear to mark its centenary year. eBay brings back its Endless Runway show of pre-loved fashion, shoppable through eBay Live, and H&M is working with photographer Nick Knight and SHOWstudio on a new take on the fashion show format. Over on Oxford Street, Selfridges is spotlighting participating brands with in-store highlights and a curated edit of British designers. The British Fashion Council's London Fashion Week page carries the official dates and schedule updates.
Shop the schedule in Knightsbridge
Several of the week's names can be seen on our doorstep. Burberry is one of the anchors of the British contingent, and its Knightsbridge presence makes it easy to compare the current collection with what appears on the runway. Erdem opened a two-level boutique at 50A Sloane Street last October, its second London home, set in a 1920s Art Deco building with hand-painted canvas panels in the brand's signature blue. After the show, it is the obvious place to see the craftsmanship up close.
For a broader browse, our guide to Sloane Street shopping covers the street's flagships from end to end, and Harrods and Harvey Nichols will both be well stocked with autumn arrivals.
Practical notes
The runway shows themselves are largely invitation only, so the best way for most people to experience the week is through the shops and online. Expect busier boutiques and restaurants around Sloane Street from Thursday to Monday, and book lunch tables in advance if you plan to shop on the weekend.
