Date Night Restaurants in Knightsbridge: Where to Book

OK8 August 2026·By Only Knightsbridge Editorial·4 min read
Petrus

For date night restaurants in Knightsbridge, book the omakase counter at Alba for something intimate and theatrical, Pétrus for a classic special occasion, or The Aubrey if the evening should run late. Below are eight places that work for two, from Michelin-starred French to Tuscan with live jazz, each checked on its own website, with what to order and how to get there.

Alba

Opposite Harrods at 70 Brompton Road, Alba pairs Amalfi-inspired Italian cooking with Japanese seafood. For a date, reserve two of the ten seats at the omakase counter, where Japanese Head Chef Takuya Kaneko serves nine or twelve courses at 6.30pm or 8.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday, with a view of Harrods. Prefer Italian? Italian Head Chef Cristian Ianni's lobster linguine and the Alba pizza with soft-scrambled egg are the signatures. More on our Alba page; Knightsbridge station is two minutes away.

Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay

For a proposal or anniversary, Pétrus is the safe, polished choice. It holds a Michelin star for classic French cooking with a contemporary edge, and the glass-walled wine store at the centre of the room sets the tone. Ask about the chef's table if you would like to watch the kitchen. It is at 1 Kinnerton Street, SW1X 8EA, between Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner stations.

The Aubrey

Inside Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, The Aubrey is a Japanese izakaya and late-night bar decorated with more than 250 pieces of Japonisme art. Dinner runs from 5pm until 1am, and until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, so it suits a date that starts with cocktails and drifts on. Try the seven-course omakase or the omakase cocktail experience at the bar, which pairs five drinks with small dishes. Enter at 66 Knightsbridge, SW1X 7LA, by Knightsbridge station.

La Môme London

At The Berkeley on Wilton Place, La Môme London serves Mediterranean dishes made for sharing, which keeps a first date relaxed. On fine evenings the terrace, with views across Belgravia, is the place to be, and there is a private dining room with closing doors for a more discreet occasion. Lunch runs from noon to 3pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 11pm. The nearest stations are Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner.

Sette

Sette at the Bulgari Hotel is the first London restaurant from New York's Scarpetta group, bringing Manhattan-style Italian cooking to its own entrance at 4 Knightsbridge Green. Dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm, and the bar stays open until midnight from Monday to Saturday, so a drink after dinner is easy. It is two minutes from Knightsbridge station.

Zuma

If your date likes a buzz, Zuma has been one of London's most celebrated Japanese restaurants for two decades, inspired by the izakayas of Tokyo. The bar is open for drinks all day and welcomes walk-ins, so you can start there before moving to the restaurant, which serves dinner until 11pm Monday to Saturday and 10.30pm on Sunday. It is at 5 Raphael Street, SW7 1DL, near Knightsbridge station.

Cantinetta Antinori

The London outpost of the Antinori wine family opened in 2023 in a historic building on Harriet Street, serving traditional and contemporary Tuscan dishes with wines from the family's own estates. Book on a Friday, when there is live jazz in the evening, or settle into the wine bar for salami and a glass. Cantinetta Antinori is at 4 Harriet Street, SW1X 9JR, off Sloane Street, and you can read more on our venue page.

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

For a two-star blowout, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal serves dishes drawn from historic British recipes, such as Meat Fruit, a mandarin-shaped chicken liver parfait, and Tipsy Cake with spit-roast pineapple, across two tasting menus. The restaurant closes at the end of January 2027, so this is a date with a deadline. It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and sits inside Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park at 66 Knightsbridge, SW1X 7LA.

Good to know

Alba's omakase counter has only ten seats per sitting, so book well ahead for Friday and Saturday. For a drink after dinner, The Mandarin Bar is within a few minutes of most of these addresses, and Zuma's bar takes walk-ins all day.
